Karuna Bhavan Medical Centre , Koruthodu is  run by  SABS Sisters , Kanjirappally

Province. Our hospital Registered  in 1983 as Charitable Institution.  Koruthodu  is  village  which is

14 east of Mundakayam and 49 kms South east of  Kottayam ,  and people living this area are  very

poor and mainly coolie workers. It is only one hospital in this village and nearest hospital is 15 Kms

from this centre.    People living in jungle   are a special category  people and are uneducated

group near our  village  also coming here. We provide medical  care  at  home  according  to the

need, sometimes  aged and very sick  patients transporting to the  centre is not possible because

of hilly home  as a charitable work. We usually go to home for certify death and death care also .

           Our present  facilities available are  are   Pharmacy , Laboratory  ,C asualty , Inpatient  and 

outpatient department . The type of treatment provided includes minor surgical cases and general

checkup and medical treatment. We have 24 hours casualty service also. At present two doctors

ans seven staff members working here.

              Healing  ministry is the  ministerial  instrument of God ‘s  outpouring love for the suffering. 

In the  Vision health   care is not merely a profession ,but it is vocation and mission. We have a

mandate  from  Christ the great physician to participate in the healing ministry. “ Heal the

sick……cleans the lepers”(Mt 10.3)

Besides the Eucharistic Apostolate we extend our services in the field of Healing Ministry and

education.. The Mission of our Healing Ministry is the  proclamation of the Good news that the life

is worth living because it is the gift from God who is the father of all. Seeing the Eucharistic Lord in

the faces of the physically ,mentally and spiritually wounded we give them the compassionate

touch of the Lord and lead them to the joy of resurrection.
