Established in 1888, St. Joseph's hospital at Manjummel is the first mission hospital in Kerala and second one in whole of India. It is owned and administered by a trust of the Carmelite fathers of Manjummel Province. The trust includes the Chairman, Director, Associate Directors and two other office bearers of the province. It has crossed the steps of growth and stands tall today as the best synonym of aura hospital. Initially though the hospital was managed Carmelite Fathers of Manjummel Province; from 1962 the Archdiocese of Verapoly took over the administration till 1992. Then 2005 a face lift was done and the hospital was dedicated to the public to cater its service. In 134 years, the hospital has gone through several stages of growth, but the development of the hospital in the last 15 years has enhanced its performance.Mi
