Lourdes Hospital is a leading multi-super speciality tertiary care hospital built on a strong foundation of state-of-the-art facilities, advanced medical expertise, research, and education. Lourdes started its voyage in the year 1965 under the aegis of the arch diocese of Verapoly. It has evolved into a tertiary care referral centre for providing advanced treatment for complex problems. Lourdes attracts patients not only from all parts of Kerala, but also from other states and other countries. Lourdes now has 43 established specialities & super specialities, which are growing steadily, headed by skilled & highly qualified doctors. We have the best of equipments, manned by trained and dedicated staff.
Lourdes is now a full-fledged teaching institution and research centre conducting post graduate medical courses – DNB training programmes recognized by the National Board of Examinations in 11 specialities. Lourdes runs a Nursing College, Nursing School, Paramedical College & Academy of Clinical Training (AHA – International Training Centre).
Over Six Decades, Lourdes has played an important role in serving the under privileged with excellent care. Lourdes’ free Outreach Clinics at 15 centres in Ernakulam offers medical relief to the less privileged, regardless of caste, creed and, colour even in the remote Islands.

1. ANAESTHESIOLOGY - The Department of Anaesthesiology offers interdisciplinary medical care and supports all specialities. Anaesthesia is used in critical care, pain management, surgery, and diagnostics. .
2. BEHAVIOURAL SCIENCES - We aim to support individuals facing mental and behavioural health challenges, helping them reintegrate into society. Our services include psychological testing, diagnosis, acute care, and rehabilitation. Through clinical research and education, we also work to change perceptions about mental health and its treatment.
3. CARDIAC ANAESTHESIOLOGY - The Department of Cardiac Anaesthesiology renders anaesthesia services for all cardiac surgical procedures. We support beating hearts, bypass surgeries for CABGS, complex Aneurysm repair, emergency Aortic dissection repair, and Valvular surgical cases.
4. CARDIOLOGY - The Institute of Cardiology at Lourdes Hospital offers comprehensive care for adults, focusing on prevention, diagnosis, and advanced treatment. With expert cardiologists, surgeons, and intensivists, and facilities like a flat-panel Cath Lab and advanced imaging, the centre handles all cardiac emergencies and complex procedures, including bypass surgery, valve replacements, and minimally invasive interventions.

CARDIAC ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY - Dedicated to managing heart rhythm disorders through advanced procedures like electrophysiological studies, catheter ablation, and device implantation (pacemakers, ICDs, CRT). With modern labs and expert specialists, the unit ensures precise diagnosis and cutting-edge treatment for arrhythmias.

CARDIOTHORACIC SURGERY - The cardiothoracic surgery department at Lourdes Hospital provides patients with the most advanced, comprehensive care for complicated heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders. Our nurses and surgeons work closely with cardiology, anesthesiology, and vascular imaging departments to provide patients with the most innovative, safest, highest-quality, and imaginative surgeries.
